Short Biography
Bruce
Cripps wasborn November 2nd 1941. He grew up in Newcastle and
had a bad childhood. He was raised by his aunt, because of his
mother early death.
Bruce and
a school friend named Brian Robson Rankin (better known as Hank
Marvin) played in a group called The Railroaders.
Bruce and
Hank went to London in 1957 to try their luck in music business.
They failed the first year, but got luck when they met Cliff Richard
on 2 I's coffee bar in London.
In
the early days of fame, Bruce wrote a lot of hits for both Cliff
Richard, and The Shadows. Cliff's "Please don't Teaste",
"Don't Talk to Him" and "Summer Holliday",
and The Shadows' "Foot Tapper", Theme For Young Lovers"
and "FBI", to mention a few, are all written with Bruce.
